Working on paper involves an intimacy by nature of the materials used. The delicacy of a pencil line, the dust of pastel, or the brilliance of the gouache engages and invites the eyes to come close, to delight in the surface of the paper.

This work is from the Improvisation series, a continual exploration of the images and patterns that are evoked by what I see, feel, and imagine.
